14. SILK ROUTE – INDIA
The Silk Route refers to a network of ancient trade routes connecting Asia, Europe and Africa. Extending more than 6,500 km, the Silk Route was majorly used to transport Chinese Silk to Europe through Asia. It was the world’s first information superhighway. Other important items traded in this route were sugar, tea, horses, salt, copper and cotton. 13. PASO INTERNACIONAL LOS LIBERTADORES – CHILE
The Paso Internacional Los Libertadores, also called Cristo Redentor, is a mountain pass in the Andes between Argentina and Chile. With over 40 border crossings between the two countries spread over the mountains, the most spectacular and important is Paso de los Libertadores. It’s one of the most scenic drives in the world. The Chilean side of the road is very difficult to navigate through one of the most winding routes in the world. The Argentine side of the pass is of a gentler grade and much better maintained. It also carries more traffic as many tourists drive up and back to enjoy the views.
