8. Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe was born on 1 June, 1926 in Los Angeles, Californa, U.S. She was a popular American actress, singer, model and became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s. She faced a scandal when it was revealed that she had posed for nude photos but it didn’t damage her career. Not only was she the very first Playboy cover girl, but she was the first model to appear fully nude in its pages. Her marriages to baseball star Joe DiMaggio and to playwright Arthur Miller ended in divorce. Monroe suffered from insomnia, depression, anxiety and had begun to struggle with alcoholism and drug addictions. On August 4, 1962, she died at age 36 from an overdose of barbiturates at her home.
