Bloomberg pays its top software developers $179,000, with Oracle sitting close by at $173,000. It just depends on where someone works.

Increased difficulty and stress= more pay.. More competitors for same job=less pay Longer education=more pay. So a Surgeon earn a lot but he is also in education eternally compared to others, they do have to minimum spend 11 years before getting there. For me the starting salary in the first 5 Years counts more than the top end, because when you are young you need money more than when older, a young person still has to buy a house, a proper car and in the 30s has to support a family .. when you finally reach the top end pay you might be around 50+, your house is (hopefully) paid of or paid of by a large part, you have settled, your kids are already out of the house or on the way out.. money has been saved you are no longer feeling as unsecure financially.. This is why I personally only aim for a bachelor. I want to work at a younger age and start the real quality life earlier, because life as a student is shitty and truly insanely limited.
