Also known as the Wizard of Omaha, Warren Buffet is an American business magnate, investor and philanthropist. He is reputed to be the most successful investor in the world and therefore regularly ranks among the world’s wealthiest people. He remains somewhat of an oddball in the sphere of billionaires as he insists on living a relatively modest life and has pledged to donate 99 percent of his fortune to charity. He purchased his central Omaha home – a corner house with an area of 6,570 square feet – for $31,500 in 1958 (which is around $250,000 converted to current monetary value).
